The Tadrart region also called Meridional Tadrart is a part of the vast Tassili National Park located in the southeastern Algerian Sahara desert. The arches show here are from various areas of Tadrart, included Alidemma, Moul'n'aga, erg of Tin-Merzouga, Tamezguina, El Beridj, and In-Djerane canyon. This vast region near the libyan border is accessible only by jeep (with guide) and is 170 km distant from Djanet. Besides the incredible natural arches, the region provides the visitor with other scenic natural wonders -among the best in the immense Sahara Desert. The geology is similar to the Colorado Plateau in southeastern USA. The amazing dryfall bridge of Tiseketa, which is over 35 meters high, wonderfully illustrates that. Mano Dayak Arch (from Mano Dayak 1950-1995 leader of Tuareg people), first documented here, is reminiscent of typical sandstone formations in Utah. Finally, the trio of huge arches of Tamezguina at the entrance of In-Djerane Canyon display very exciting spans. For directions to the natural arches below visit
