L'Anse

L'Anse (The Handle) is located on Cirque de Mourèze area on the side of Gorge des Combasses near the village of Mourèze in Hérault department of France. The beautiful natural arch was named by Gaston Combamous, author of Les Pierres qui Parlent (The Stones who Speaks), now out of print. He has named and catalogued many features in this area. We hope that rocks will speak to you. The arch eroded through dolomitic limestone has a measured span of 7 meters and a height of 5 meters.
