FR-9. This massive natural arch is located on the top of Mont-Salève (Mount-Saleve) at 1250 meters above sea level near the hamlet of La Croisette in Haute-Savoie department of France. It was formed on the side of the cliff of La Corraterie by erosional work which have perforated a deep sinkhole. For this reason, this natural arch should be considered has an irregular type. Mont-Salève is famous on the area for these spectacular overlooks on Geneva city and Geneva Lake, as well as for these great panorama on french Alps and these numerous cave. "Tine" is an old local name for barrel and "trou" means hole in french. The arch is spoted by red star on IGN topographic map Top 25 number 3430 west Mont-Salève (pleat D2).
