Arches National Park is located in south-eastern Utah, 5 miles north from the town of Moab. The park contains over 2000 natural arches, but only one hundred significant openings can be considered. The park has been well known for a long time to exhibit the largest concentration of natural arches in the world. Since the middle of the 90´s, a systematic exploration of other areas in the world - as Canyonlands National Park or Sahara Plateau - by enthousiastic arch hunters has revealed those other outstanding sites as rich as this park with exceptional arch formations.
