This natural bridge (it is not an arch) is located on the popular site of Cirque de Saint-Même near the village of Saint-Pierre d'Entremont and very close to the re-springing torrent of Guiers Vif (Source de Guiers) in Savoie department of France. Cirque de Saint-Même is situated 30km to the south of the city of Chambéry, capital of the department and historical capital of the Savoy region. The natural bridge can be visited by two different ways. The escarped and exposed trail called "Pas Ruat" hence the arch name as well as by the maintained path. The path of Pas Ruat has a cable hand raill on difficult passage. The name "Pas" refers in french as a hard section on primitive trail on mountain. However, the regular trail is not post-signed at the turn and most people miss to get on the upper resurgence where is situated the natural bridge and will be fully satisfied with viewpoint on a couple of beautiful waterfalls. The pasage through the bridge is an area
exposed to rock fall and can be
very dangerous after rain so helmet is always recommended if you are interested to visit the bridge. Also, it is not recommended to
stay long time at the bottom of the oppressive pit on the upper section of the bridge. Huge pile of rockfall and debris prompted your step anyway. As the area is exposed to the north, it is all year round on the darkness under the imposing cliffs of Lance du Guiers. The bridge has a measured height of 6.0 meters and a span of 6.0 meters. It is located by red star on IGN topographic map Top 25 number 3333 Chartreuse north (pleat D7).
